June 25, 2020

Dear friend and family of East Lake Road Alliance Church,

I hope this note finds you well and that you are enjoying the first week of Summer.  As of Friday, we are green!  What does this mean?  My understanding is that the social distancing guidelines are still in place and masks are still strongly recommended to be worn.  Being green does allow businesses and restaurants to open at a limited capacity and gathering sizes are increased – up to 250 people.

Continue to pray for the elimination of this virus.  Continue to look to the Lord and what He may be teaching us through this pandemic (we don’t want to waste this opportunity in drawing nearer to Jesus).  Strive to continue to share the gospel with those who don’t have a relationship with Jesus.  Pray for those who are stricken by this virus.  Pray for our nation that we would turn our attention and worship to God.

Though the government is not mandating guidelines for religious institutions, we still are taking precautions. We ask that you wear a mask into the worship service, and once seated you can choose if you want to wear it or not. Upon exiting, we ask that you again wear a mask.  If you do not have a mask, no problem, we have one for you at the table in the entrance of the church.  There are also several hand sanitizer stations in place for your convenience. The building is being regularly cleaned, especially ‘high touch’ areas.

The bulletins are also located on the table in front of the sanctuary for you to take to your seat.  Offering plates are not being passed at this time…. Instead, the plates are at the doors in the back of the church for you to put your tithes and offerings in.  At this time, there is an overflow area in the gym where people (for the past 2 weeks) have chosen to watch the service together.  The gym area is a little less formal…. and may be more conducive for parents with children.?.?

At this time, there is no children’s ministry or any Sunday School classes.  The elders are meeting to evaluate the feasibility and timing of when to resume.  There are many factors that need to be considered:  social distancing, mask wearing, live stream/zooming the class for those who don’t yet feel comfortable to return, etc….

Continue to pray for wisdom in making these decisions.  Every decision is made by seeking God with you in mind.  Have a great day – see you soon.

In His Love,

Pastor Matt
